Hi everyone, it\u2019s already July! Time flies!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

7th July is the day of the beginning of midsummer (Shousho \u5c0f\u6691). It means that the temperature is getting hotter with strong sunlight and it is also the time when the rainy season is over. As the weather conditions change easily, it is important to maintain a good balance for both mental and physical health by having a balanced diet and proper stretching routine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Various summer flowers begin to bloom in July. One of them is “Asakao” (Morning Glory).
There is a “morning glory market” held in Iritani, Tokyo during the “Shousho” and it is a downtown summer tradition started in the latter half of the Edo period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

July has a traditional name called Fumitsuki (\u6587\u6708). Fumi means letter or written words in Japanese. There is an origin related to the custom of written wishes in Tanabata since ancient times. And today is Tanabata too which is one of Japan\u2019s traditional seasonal festivals and takes place on the 7th day of the 7th month of the year. In Tanabata, people would write wishes on a strip of paper and hang that strip of paper on a specially decorated bamboo tree to hope the wishes become true. We hope that all of you enjoy a joyful and healthy life every day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
